I’ve said my piece; I walk away,

I don’t need someone to control my life,

It seemed the harder I tried to explain,

The more I ended up in deep strife.

They demanded absolute devotion,

No dissension, would they consider or heed,

‘Our specialty is religious humility,

And who are you to dare to disagree?’

Father God, what’s Your take on all this?

Is there something I’m not getting at all?

Is this Your plan? I can’t sense Your heart,

It seems to me these ways are pitiful.

God speaks:

The key upon which you must rely,

How well do they always represent My heart?

If they truly know Me as they claim,

Then divine intimacy would be the start.
