Kicked around. Ignored. Treated with contempt.

Abused. Reviled. The hurt just won’t relent.

This is not a destiny! No divine order here!

I’ll ask God to protect my heart, invite Him near.

I’ll rise above this abusive space,

Learn my role, then take my place,

Living with God’s help a brand new way,

With a clearer head in the light of day.

For Christ shall be my Champion,

Rescuing me from this treadmill I’m on,

Giving me honour that’s meant for me,

Fervently staying with me eternally.

He’s fashioned me for a destiny like no other,

Infused me with Holy Spirit’s awesome power,

Lifted me up with His outstretched hand,

Put me in a high place where I can stand.
