How do I let betrayal and spitefulness go?

Walk free from the pain and anger I know?

How do I reconcile sharing deep from my heart,

Then enduring the attacks to tear me apart?

The need to control, manipulate and subjugate,

Mixed with cruelty and unbridled hate,

Sounds the very opposite to where God dwells,

It feels, sounds and is a pathetic living hell.

Jealousy is such a blinding thing,

To insecure leaders, their bell it rings,

Their floor must be the ceiling for all around,

Lest others begin to freely thrive and abound.
